Dr. Dominic A. Colarusso Jr.
Dr. Dominic A. Colarusso Jr.
Dominic A. Colarusso, Jr., DDS, is a practicing orthodontist and President of Orthodontists Associates of Western New York, PC with three offices located in Hamburg, Olean and Orchard Park, New York.

After receiving the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery from Howard University in 1982, Dr. Colarusso attended the University at Buffalo School of Dentistry, where he received a Certificate in Orthodontics in 1984. He is licensed to practice orthodontics in New York and Pennsylvania.

He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Society, the New York State Dental Association, the Eighth District Dental Society, the Erie County Dental Association, the International Association of Orofacial Myology, the Fonzi Dental Study Club, and is Northeastern Society of Orthodontics Board Eligible.

He is the Vice President of Volumetric Craniofacial Imaging Center, LLC and President of Col-Dent Orthodontic Lab, Inc. Dr. Colarusso is also a Board Member of the Olean General Hospital Foundation, and past President of the Cattaraugus County Dental Society.

Dr. Colarusso, along with his partner, Dr. Hietanen, has presented a number of seminars on orthodontic treatment, including: Early Orthodontic Treatment – What? When? Why? – 2008; Early Treatment Orthodontics – Why? – 2007; NewTom Scan Technology in Orthodontic and Dental Treatments – 2004, 2005; Functional Considerations to Orthodontics – 2004; Representatives of Zerobase – Toronto, 2001; Chicago, 2000; San Diego, 1999; and A Zerobase Orthodontic Office – 2000.

Orthodontists Associates of WNY was the first private practice in the United States to install and utilize CBCT technology. Dr. Colarusso is well versed in its use in diagnosis for orthodontic treatment. He was one of the original importers of the NewTom 3g scanner, a cone beam computed tomography technology, utilized in all areas of dentistry, providing reduced radiation exposure and improved diagnostic data for diagnosis.

He also utilizes rhinomanometry and s-EMG as standard protocols in diagnosis. Dr. Colarusso incorporates and implements its diagnostic results into patient treatment.

A member of St. Mary’s of the Angels RC Church, Olean, New York, and Past-Chairman of its annual church festival, Dr. Colarusso is also a member and past President of the Olean Exchange Club.

Steven J. Hietanen, DDS, is a practicing orthodontist and Vice President of Orthodontists Associates of Western New York, PC with offices located in Hamburg, Olean and Orchard Park , New York. He is also the President of Volumentric Craniofacial Imaging Center, Hamburg, New York.

After receiving the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University at Buffalo School of Dentistry in 1988, Dr. Hietanen attended Columbia University, where he graduated with a Certificate in Orthodontics, in 1993. He is licensed to practice Orthodontics in New York and Pennsylvania.

He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Society, the New York State Dental Association, the Eighth District Dental Society, the Erie County Dental Association, the International Association of Orofacial Myology, the Fonzi Dental Study Club, the Western New York Dental Implant Study Club, is Northeastern Society of Orthodontics Board Eligible, and is American Board of Orthodontics Board Eligible. Dr. Hietanen is a past a​nd​c​urrent​President of the Eighth District Orthodontic Academy of New York and a former Executive Board Member of the Erie County Dental Society, New York.

Continually wanting to improve his diagnostic acumen Dr. Hietanen seeks to implement new technology in the process. Teaching and educating patients bring passion to his orthodontics.

A member of Ss. Peter and Paul RC Church in Hamburg, New York, Dr. Hietanen has been involved in the Ss. Peter and Paul Home School Association and Bishop Timon­-St. Jude Alumni Association as past President, Vice Chairman and Member of the Board of Trustees. He was the co­founder of the Ss. Peter and Paul Hockey Teams, and a member of the Board of Governors of the Cazenovia Park Hockey Association. H​e has coached hockey at the youth and high school level for the last 17 years.

Dr. Andrew J. Dusel

Andrew J. Dusel, DDS, is a practicing orthodontist with Orthodontists Associates of Western New York, PC with offices located in Hamburg, Olean, Orchard Park, and Lancaster, New York.

Dr. Dusel is a native of East Aurora, New York, and graduated from East Aurora High School in 1998. He was awarded his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Ithaca College in 2002. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, magna cum laude, from University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2007. He was the recipient of the Dean’s Award during his fourth year for outstanding academics and community service. He was active in the Buffalo Outreach and Community Assistance (BOCA) program and traveled to the Dominican Republic on a dental mission trip in 2006. He was an active member of the Dental School Admissions Committee during his fourth year, and has recently rejoined the committee since moving back to the area.

Dr. Dusel completed his orthodontic training at Montefiore Medical Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City in the spring of 2010. He received his Certificate in Orthodontics after a very clinical-based, three-year program. Dr. Dusel received the department award for excellence in teaching of medical students during his three-year residency program.

He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Society, the New York State Dental Association, the Eighth District Dental Society, and the Erie County Dental Association. Dr. Dusel is American Board of Orthodontics Board Eligible.

Dr. Dusel is very familiar with Orthodontists Associates of Western New York as he was an assistant and lab technician for a year prior to entering dental school. He has spent a good deal of time in the office during his dental and orthodontic training so that his transition into the office would be seamless. Like Dr. Hietanen and Dr. Colarusso, Dr. Dusel has experience treating a wide range of patients with the focus on early treatment orthodontics. He has experience treating children, adolescents, and adults and has treated complex craniofacial patients and cleft palate patients with the Craniofacial Team at Montefiore Medical Center. He is well-trained in surgical orthodontics and is Invisalign® Certified.

Dr. Dusel is a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in East Aurora. He also enjoys playing in the BDSL Soccer League, running, platform tennis, waterskiing at Rushford Lake, and snow skiing at Holimont in Ellicottville.

He enjoys spending time with his wife, Helen, a pediatric dentist in the area, and their daughter, Eva. They enjoy life on their farm in East Aurora along with hiking and running in the area.
